The State Attorney's Office filed a prosecutor's statement today (Wednesday) against a 20-year-old resident of Holon, as part of an ongoing legal proceeding regarding suspicions of committing sex offenses against a 13-year-old minor. According to information published by Walla, the investigation into the affair began on September 6, 2026, following a complaint filed by the minor's family to the police emergency hotline, reporting an alleged sexual assault.

Following the complaint, investigators from the Holon police station launched an intensive investigation, during which evidence was collected that led to the suspect's arrest. Subsequently, the youth's detention was extended from time to time at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court. The investigation materials indicate that the connection between the two was formed through the 'Bump' app. It is suspected that the virtual connection led to several face-to-face meetings, and in one of them, the two arrived at an abandoned building in the city of Holon.

According to police claims, the suspect committed a sex offense against the minor at this location, while fully aware of his young age. The Israel Police states that during the time elapsed since the arrest, investigators managed to consolidate an alleged evidentiary basis against the suspect, which led to the Attorney's Office decision to file a prosecutor's statement. This procedure is a preliminary step for filing a full criminal indictment, which is expected to be submitted to the competent court in the coming days.

Legally, the case highlights the risks involved in using social networks and dating apps, especially when minors are involved. This is a criminal investigation that has not yet reached completion in judicial instances, and therefore it should be clarified that all suspicions attributed to the youth have not yet been proven in court and he maintains the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise. The case joins other cases handled by law enforcement authorities in Israel regarding the protection of minors in the digital and physical space. At this stage, no responses have been received from the parties involved in the case, and the legal process is expected to continue with the filing of the formal indictment.
