The State Attorney's Office, through the Tel Aviv District Prosecution, has filed a severe indictment at the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court against a 67-year-old local resident following an incident of violence at a Mizrahi Bank branch on Derech Shlomo in Jaffa. According to reports from Walla, the incident began last week when the defendant, frustrated by service issues after being denied a cash withdrawal, targeted the bank branch.
As alleged in the indictment, on the early morning of August 26, the suspect arrived at the premises and committed acts of vandalism, including applying superglue to the entrance locks and ATM slots. Several hours later, around 10:00 AM, the defendant returned to the branch armed with pepper spray and two knives. According to the evidence presented in the indictment, the defendant drew a knife and stabbed a 45-year-old bank employee in her face.
Following the incident, Magen David Adom (MDA) teams were called to the scene, provided initial medical treatment, and evacuated the employee to Wolfson Hospital in moderate condition with a penetrating injury. Police forces from the Jaffa station arrived at the scene and arrested the defendant inside the branch. The weapon allegedly used in the attack was seized on-site. Following the completion of the criminal investigation and the consolidation of evidence, the court was petitioned to order the defendant's detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings. The Tel Aviv Magistrates Court granted the request and ordered the defendant to be held in custody until the end of the trial.
