The State Attorney's Office recently filed an indictment against Salah Othman, a resident of the A-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem, for his involvement in the murder of Fatima Rajabi. This grave case, which has shocked the public, is detailed in a document submitted to the court following an intensive investigation led by the Shalem Station of the Israel Police's Jerusalem District.

According to the indictment, the background to the incident stems from a protracted financial dispute between the defendant and the deceased. The charges allege that Rajabi demanded that Othman repay a financial debt he had accumulated. The indictment states that Othman decided to end the victim's life several days before carrying out the act. To this end, the defendant acted systematically, equipping himself in advance with a specialized metal barrel, which he stored in a shed at his home with the intention of hiding the body after the act.

Following the sequence of events, it is alleged that Othman met with Rajabi in the area of Azariya and offered to drive her to his home under the guise of intending to repay the debt in question. Upon arriving near his home, and as the victim continued to demand her money, the defendant retrieved a hammer from his trunk and struck her forcefully on the head. The indictment states that after realizing the victim still showed signs of life, he repeated his violent action, leading to her death shortly thereafter.

After the murder, it is alleged, Othman worked to cover his tracks and obstruct legal proceedings. According to the charges, he drove with the body in his vehicle through various cities, including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and subsequently hid the body in the barrel he had purchased in advance, pouring sealant over it to prevent discovery. Furthermore, the defendant is accused of taking the victim's debit card and withdrawing a sum of 15,000 NIS. Othman is also charged with destruction of evidence after discarding mobile phones and hiding the murder weapon, until he surrendered to the police with the assistance of a relative.

The indictment charges Othman with serious offenses, including murder under aggravating circumstances, destruction of evidence, credit card fraud under aggravating circumstances, and theft. It should be emphasized that these are allegations detailed in an indictment that have not yet been adjudicated in court, and the defendant is entitled to a fair trial.
