The investigation into the death of the late Eldar Yitzhak Dayan has escalated significantly. According to a report by Ice, detectives from the Sharon District Central Unit (Yamar) recently raided the homes of four young men from Petah Tikva and arrested them on suspicion of involvement in the case. Police stated that the four had previously been questioned at the local station regarding a brawl that preceded Dayan’s disappearance and death but were released at the time. Following the discovery of new evidence, investigators decided to carry out renewed and deeper arrests.
In addition to the four new detainees, authorities are conducting a widespread manhunt for another suspect who has vanished and is not responding to calls, raising suspicions that he has gone into hiding. Meanwhile, the deceased’s close friends, Maxim Bruverman and Omri Peretz, remain in custody on suspicion of involvement in his death. The issue of the suspects' detention is expected to be the focus of hearings at the Petah Tikva Magistrate’s Court, where police will request extensions for further investigation.
During proceedings, one detainee denied the allegations. His defense attorney, Adv. Shay Roda, stated that his client is cooperating fully with law enforcement and even provided his mobile phone for police inspection to prove he had no connection to the fatal event. His central claim is that he met with Dayan at the deceased's own request to help locate his friends. This is a complex case under active investigation by the Sharon Yamar, with a total of six suspects currently held: four suspected of involvement in the preceding brawl and two suspected of direct involvement in Dayan’s death. Police noted that the investigation continues to uncover the truth and clarify all circumstances of the case.
