The Israel Police announced the conclusion of the investigation into the murder of Yanis Yusheiv, a known underworld figure who was shot to death last month at a gas station in Caesarea. Following the completion of intelligence and forensic operations, a prosecutor's statement was filed against Doron Weizman, a resident of Moshav Hazon, regarding his involvement in the murder. According to a Ynet report, Weizman is expected to stand trial at the Haifa District Court.

According to police, the investigation utilized advanced technological means leading to Weizman's identification. The suspect was documented arriving at a restaurant in the complex, waiting for the victim's departure, and executing a pre-planned operation. Law enforcement officials stated that the suspect’s identification was facilitated, among other factors, by fingerprints found on personal items left at the scene and inside the getaway vehicle.

Following the murder, Weizman fled and hid in a warehouse near Hadera, where he was eventually captured by YAMAM special forces acting in conjunction with the Coastal and Menashe Central Investigation Units. Meanwhile, police noted that three other suspects arrested in the case were released after insufficient evidentiary infrastructure was found to file indictments against them, despite DNA samples of one individual being found in the getaway car.

Yusheiv himself, long designated by police as a crime organization leader, was a primary target of the Coastal District Central Unit and had been involved in several blood feuds. Police representatives previously noted in legal proceedings that the deceased led a crime gang involved in serious offenses, including suspected wide-scale arson in the Or Akiva and Hadera areas. Currently, law enforcement clarifies that the hunt for additional parties involved in the planning and ordering of the assassination remains active. This complex murder case, involving both covert and overt operations, alleges that several of the deceased’s enemies collaborated to execute the criminal plot. The judicial system is now expected to begin criminal proceedings against Weizman, which are likely to shed further light on the circumstances of this complex affair.
